The King's Theatre boasts a 312-seat professional setting for a wide range of shows, screenings and performances. Set within the stunning Thorpe Underwood Estate on the outskirts of York, the venue features free on-site parking and good transport links.
Our forthcoming theatre season features an exciting and varied programme. As well as hosting our in-house QE Productions, we're thrilled to announce a series of visiting professional performances across the year. Following the huge success of our outdoor theatre performances last year, we're also pleased to welcome Illyria back in July 2025.

At King's Academy, students work with industry professionals to develop skills in all areas of the performing arts industry including acting, singing and dancing.
King's Academy is open to all 5-11 year olds.

It is with great pleasure that we share the current season at the King’s Theatre.
Our aim this year is to make live performance accessible to everyone – to our amazing QE family and friends but also to the wider community.
The King’s Theatre is a venue that celebrates the work of QE students but also professionals from around the country and its doors are open to all.
There is something for everyone: family theatre, live music, open air performances, QE student work and our annual Gym and Dance event.
